Schedule: The riders will rotate every 1-2 hours, with one Jet Ski on the water at all times. The target distance is 693 miles per day, and we plan to maintain a speed of 35 mph/32 knots. One hour before the rider goes into the water, he or she will monitor as a safety spotter for his/her teammate who is in the water. After the riders come off the water, they will inspect their Jet Skis, and then contact children from the Children’s Inn to let them know how their day is going. After contact is made, either by e-mail or phone, the rider will have the opportunity to eat and get some well-needed rest. Then the cycle will begin again, with a 24-hour rotation seven days a week until the end of the journey. Sleeping and eating quarters will be below deck on the support vessel. Team briefings and updates will be conducted daily.
